About Plinth Partners & Founder Andrew Gemmell

Does This Sound Like Your Daily Reality?

You run a successful business, but you're constantly pulled into the weeds, fire-fighting, and dealing with issues your leaders should handle themselves. You know you need to be focused on the vision, strategy, and growth, but you're trapped in the day-to-day operations. Your team is talented, but they're not taking ownership or are unsure how to influence a team, as you need them to, creating bottlenecks that slow everything down.

Why I Founded Plinth Partners

Plinth Partners was created because I experienced firsthand the frustration of leaders struggling to influence their followers, and creating roadblocks for themselves, instead of solutions. These people all wanted to continue their success on their leadership journey. Yet it became more difficult to do this without changing their approach and some behaviours.

I watched too many people struggle with leadership fundamentals. The turning point came when I realised that traditional leadership development, training and coaching wasn't working because it focused on knowledge transfer, not consistent behavioural change.

That's when I discovered Marshall Goldsmith's Stakeholder-Centred approach. Unlike conventional coaching that happens in isolation, this methodology involves using the people who actually work with your leaders on a regular basis, and the results are transformative.

Here’s What You Need to Know About Our Approach

  • Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centred Coaching

We use one of the world's most proven leadership development methodologies with a verified 95% success rate across 11,000+ leaders

  • 25+ Years Business Leadership Experience

With experience as a co-founder of a business leading over 40 people, and more recently leading professional development inside a professional services firm, I have seen these scenarios from different perspectives.

  • Genuine Understanding of Your Situation

We've walked in your shoes and understand the pressure of either scaling a business while managing a growing team, or building an 'effective’ leadership team in an established business.

The 3 Principles Behind Our Success

At Plinth Partners, our methodology is built on three fundamental principles.

01.

Leadership is best measured by those who experience it daily

That's why we use a stakeholder-centered approach that involves your leader's boss, peers, and direct reports in the development process

02.

You shouldn't have to guess if development initiatives are working

Most coaching relies on the leader's opinion or the coach's assessment. Our approach uses quarterly feedback from the people who actually work with your leaders daily - measurable proof of improvement, not assumptions

03.

While other coaches charge regardless of results, at Plinth Partners you only pay when your leaders demonstrably improve. No improvement = no fee. Because transformation should be measured by impact, not hours spent.

You should pay for results, not time

When I’m Not Working With Leaders…

When I'm not helping leaders unlock their potential, you'll find me practising street photography in and around Melbourne, at the MCG following ‘the Blues’ (Carlton), hiking, and enjoying time with my family.

Apart from my leadership development work, I am passionate about helping owners and leaders build more leadership capacity and develop their cognitive fitness, and creating more resources.

What drives me personally is seeing the ripple effect of great leadership - when a manager learns to delegate effectively, it doesn't just change their team's performance, it changes their own sense of fulfilment and work-life balance.

I'm passionate about working with leaders who want to examine human behaviour and behavioural change, and the effects this can have on their broader teams and business.
